Future Outlook: Jimmy Moreland Can Become a Premier NFL Slot CB in DC
JIMMY MORELAND CAN BECOME A PREMIER NFL SLOT CB IN DC
Jimmy Moreland has largely flown under the radar since entering the league in 2019. As a seventh round draft pick, he was likely seen as a longer-term development project that could pan out into a solid backup or rotational player. Washington also already has a deep secondary with recent additions Kendall Fuller, William Jackson III, and Landon Collins, among others.
In just two seasons, however, Moreland has shown that he has great potential, especially when he plays in the slot with his 5’11”, 182 lb frame. The JMU product is quick off the snap and good with his hands, and he has also demonstrated that he is a tough and capable tackler despite his relatively smaller frame. As he continues to develop and learn from more experienced defensive backs in the nation’s capital like Landon Collins, Moreland will look to establish his place as a premier slot CB in the NFL.
