Braves projected lineup after trading for Jorge Soler

0

The Atlanta Braves have completely revamped their outfield by trading for Jorge Soler.

The Atlanta Braves have been incredibly aggressive in reshaping its lackluster outfield, as general manager Alex Anthopoulos has dealt for a third power-hitting outfielder on Friday in Kansas City Royals slugger Jorge Soler.

Atlanta gave up right-handed pitcher Kasey Kalich for the soon-to-be free agent right fielder/designated hitter. Anthopoulos added outfielder Joc Pederson from the Chicago Cubs and catcher Stephen Vogt from the Arizona Diamondbacks a few weeks ago. On Friday, he added two outfielders in Adam Duvall with the Miami Marlins and Eddie Rosario with the Cleveland Indians.

While Atlanta massively upgraded its outfield on the fly, Braves Country should be ecstatic that Anthopoulos was able to make a deal to upgrade its bullpen. The Braves were able to deal for Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander Richard Rodriguez in exchange for right-handers Bryse Wilson and Ricky DeVito.

Atlanta Braves projected batting order after Jorge Soler trade

  1. CF Joc Pederson
  2. 2B Ozzie Albies
  3. 1B Freddie Freeman
  4. 3B Austin Riley
  5. LF Adam Duvall/Eddie Rosario
  6. RF Jorge Soler
  7. SS Dansby Swanson
  8. C Stephen Vogt

Pederson should remain atop the batting order, but will switch from right field to centerfield. Two through four should look the same with Ozzie Albies, Freddie Freeman and Austin Riley batting in that order. Either Adam Duvall or Eddie Rosario will be manning left field and hitting fifth in somewhat of a platoon. Soler hits sixth with Dansby Swanson and Vogt rounding out the order.

The Braves’ batting order gets even more interesting once Travis d’Arnaud returns from injury.
