Dak Prescott leaves adidas to sign deal with Jordan Brand
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is leaving adidas to sign a contract with Jordan Brand.
Earlier this year, the Dallas Cowboys agreed to make Dak Prescott one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the NFL by signing him ahead of the new league year. As it turns out, this was not the only deal Prescott would sign in 2021.
According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, Prescott is leaving adidas to sign a five-year contract with Jordan Brand. With this deal, Prescott is set to become Jordan Brand’s highest-paid NFL player.
Cowboys: Dak Prescott leaves adidas to sign five-year pact with Jordan Brand
The news does not necessarily come as a shock, as Prescott was spotted throughout Cowboys organized team activities and minicamp wearing Jordan cleats instead of adidas. Now, it is official that the Cowboys signal caller has moved on to join Jordan.
Prescott entered this past season on the franchise tag, in hopes of securing a long-term, high-paying contract in 2021. Those plans looked to have been dashed once he suffered a season-ending compound fracture and dislocation of his right ankle during a Week 5 game against the New York Giants. As it turns out, Prescott’s absence loomed heavily for the Cowboys, as they finished the campaign with a 6-10 record and missed out on the playoffs.
Shortly before the start of the 2021 league year, the Cowboys and Prescott agreed to terms on a four-year, $160 million contract to make him one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the league.
Through his five-year career, Prescott threw for 17,634 yards, 106 touchdowns and 40 interceptions on a 66.0 completion percentage. Additionally, Prescott rushed for 1,314 yards and 24 touchdowns on 259 carries.
Prescott is ready to go for the 2021 season to help lead the Cowboys back to the playoffs, and he will do so while wearing Jordans.
