Diamondbacks vs. Dodgers best MLB same game parlay
MLB Opening Day action on Thursday will be capped off with an NL West matchup between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Dodgers.
Since it’s the final game of the night, let’s have some fun and sprinkle on a same-game parlay. This bet is a parlay involving different types of bets for the same game.
Remember, these bets have a small likelihood of winning, so you may want to wager less than you would on a normal bet.
Let’s dive into my favorite same game parlay for this NL West showdown.
Diamondbacks vs. Dodgers same game parlay
- Dodgers -168
- Alternate total OVER 5.5 runs
- Mookie Betts to record a hit -230
- Freddie Freeman to record an RBI +145
- Zac Gallen 6+ strikeouts -104
Parlay odds: +1338
Dodgers -168
The first leg of the parlay is as easy and straight forward as possible. We’re going to take the Dodgers to win the game. That’s it. They’re still the kings of the National League West and I expect them to get off to a strong start against the Diamondbacks tonight.
Alternate total OVER 5.5 runs
The normal total for the game is set at 7.5 but for the sake of the parlay, we’re going to drop the total to 5.5. This is the easiest leg of the parlay, where all we need is six total runs to be scored throughout the duration of the game.
Mookie Betts to record a hit -230
Mookie Betts is one of the top names on the odds list to win National League MVP and he’ll likely bit hitting lead off for the Dodgers tonight. That gives me faith he can record at least one hit tonight, which shouldn’t be too much of an ask who recorded 154 hits last season.
Freddie Freeman to record an RBI +145
Freddie Freeman will likely be hitting second right behind Betts, so let’s get Mookie a hit followed directly by a Freddie RBI.
Freeman drove in 100 runs last season and with how stacked the Dodgers lineup is, he’ll get plenty of opportunities to hit just as many this season. Hopefully that starts with at least one RBI tonight.
Zac Gallen 6+ strikeouts -104
Zac Gallen had a strong 2022 campaign, recording a 2.54 ERA and an NL-leading 0.913 WHIP. More importantly, he recorded 9.4 strikeouts per nine innings. Against the Dodgers last season, he recorded 11.6 strikeouts per nine innings, his best mark against any opponent.
The Dodgers were also an average team in terms of striking out, ranking 12th in strikeout rate, striking out on 22.2% of plate appearances. This is a great way to boost our odds for the parlay.
